Colorado Honor Band is for students in 4th and 5th grade. The band rehearses every Wednesday from 3:00 - 4:00 in Beach Court auditorium. There are two large performances a year in venues outside of the school. The cost to be in the band and to use an instrument is $20 a month. There are scholarships for all students who need them.
Band teachers are Kalon Miller, Valerie Erickson and volunteer John Simpkins.
Here is some information about the band from their website:
Our program provides an environment for students ages 9-18 to excel musically, socially, and academically. Our year-round, multi-level curriculum is specifically designed to guide a beginner-level student from day 1 through the mastery of an instrument upon graduation from high school. Our class schedule is designed to optimize students' learning potential at all levels. We offer multiple locations for beginning- and intermediate-level students and centrally-located instruction for advanced-level students.
